“My administration ready to pay Lagos workers N85,000 minimum wage” — Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced that his administration is prepared to implement a minimum wage of N85,000 for the state’s workers.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that this minimum wage adjustment is part of a broader strategy to enhance the economic well-being of residents and ensure that workers are fairly compensated for their contributions.

Sanwo-Olu gave the cheering news while appearing on an interview programme on Channels Television, on Wednesday evening.
He expressed his administration’s belief that a robust and motivated workforce is essential for driving growth and development in Lagos State.
The governor’s statement signals a proactive approach to labor relations and underscores the importance of supporting the state’s employees during challenging economic times.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had pegged the minimum wage for workers at N70,000.
This comes as the Labour union leadership in the state is set for the official negotiation process of the minimum wage at a meeting slated for Monday, October 21, 2024.
