Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that his position is under threat following the team’s 2-0 loss to Wolves on Boxing Day.

The defeat marks United’s third consecutive loss and their fifth in seven matches since Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag in November.

“The manager of Manchester United can never feel comfortable,” Amorim said.

“I know the reality—if we don’t win, the manager is always in danger, and I accept that because it’s part of the job.”

Amorim, who has had limited time to work with his squad, attributed some of the struggles to the challenge of implementing his 3-4-3 system midseason without a preseason to prepare.

However, he refused to dwell on hypothetical scenarios.

“There’s no point in thinking about what could have been if I started in the summer.

“I’m here now, and I have to focus on the job,” Amorim added. “It’s difficult, but it’s football. We have to survive to improve the team.”
