Juventus have decided to end their interest in Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo despite preparing a €50 million offer for the Uruguayan defender.

Araujo, who has been a key player for Barcelona, appeared set to leave the Camp Nou, with Juventus reportedly in advanced talks to secure his services.

Manager Thiago Motta had even reached out to the 24-year-old to discuss a potential move to Turin.

However, a late intervention by Barcelona’s Sporting Director, Deco, changed the narrative.

According to reports from Sport, Deco successfully convinced Araujo to remain at the Catalan club during discussions held on Tuesday night.

The talks not only resolved Araujo’s immediate future but also opened the door for a potential contract renewal.

Barcelona’s resolve to keep Araujo has been bolstered by their recent successes, including victories over Athletic Club and Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercup.

Juventus, meanwhile, are unwilling to raise their bid beyond €50 million, with Barcelona holding firm at a €60 million valuation.
