Man blames late mother after being kicked out by ‘father’ over DNA issue
A young Nigerian man has taken to social media to express deep anger and pain after discovering through a DNA test that the man he grew up calling his father is not his biological parent.
He made this known in response to a recent report that Nigeria ranked the second highest in paternity fraud after Jamaica.
The revelation came after his supposed father conducted a DNA test, triggered by what the young man described as his “stubborn behaviour.” The results showed that they were not a match, leading to his eviction from the family home.
Sharing his ordeal on X (formerly Twitter), the man, identified by his handle @Ememobong99, lamented that his late mother, who died when he was just 13, left him in a world where he has no family ties and carries the surname of a man who is not his father.
“After 19 years my dad realised I wasn’t his son after conducting a DNA test because of my stubborn behaviour and my mom died when I was 13. Omor till now I never fit move on from the trauma. 19 years of spending my whole life thinking my dad was my dad. Jesus Christ!! E no go better for my mama for that grave wey she dey so. ,” he wrote.
When asked by followers if he was truly sent out of the house, he confirmed:
“Yes na. If na you, wetin you for do I beg Taya.”
He further explained that he was born from an unwanted pregnancy after a one-night stand between his late mother and the man he thought was his father.
“Na unwanted pregnancy o. Baba no pay for nothing. Na one night stand based on the story wey them tell me. After giving birth to me they were never together again. I dey bear name for person wey no be my father. And I no sabi where I come from,” he added.
