Tragedy as pregnant woman loses twins over inability to pay ₦28,000 hospital bill as revealed in a now-viral TikTok video
Joy Carl, a TikTok user, shared details surrounding the heartbreaking incident.
In a video posted to her TikTok account, she was seen conversing with the pregnant woman by the roadside.
After offering to hire a cab for the woman, she requested the money instead, revealing that she needed it for her hospital bill.
According to the pregnant woman, the hospital demanded ₦28,000 and a referral letter from a health center where she registered for antenatal care.
However, the TikToker volunteered to accompany the woman to the hospital and pay the demanded fees, leaving the pregnant woman overwhelmed.
In a follow-up video, the woman obtained the referral letter, but before leaving the hospital, she developed contractions.
Subsequently, Joy helped her get baby items and accompanied her back to the hospital, where she was taken to the labor room.
Unfortunately, the twins didn’t survive, with the TikToker visibly emotional.
