European qualification race intensifies as Man Utd struggle to 3-2 win against Newcastle



Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United claimed a crucial 3-2 win over Newcastle, keeping their European qualification hopes alive.

Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo were the standout performers of the match, scoring a goal each.

Mainoo opened the scoring in the 31st minute, finishing from Diallo’s assist.

Despite Anthony Gordon’s equalizer for Newcastle early in the second half, Diallo restored United’s lead with a stunning volley.

Rasmus Hojlund, who came on as a substitute, secured the win with a powerful strike in the 84th minute from outside the box.

Although Newcastle’s Lewis Hall scored in stoppage time, it was too late to alter the outcome of the match.
