“I want a farewell like Toni Kroos” – Modric to stay at Real Madrid despite exit speculations
Real Madrid star Luka Modric to remain with the club for another season despite adjusting to a reduced role under Carlo Ancelotti.
The 38-year-old Croatian midfielder expressed his thoughts on his future in an interview with Cadena Cope.
“It was difficult for me at first to understand and assume this new role, but I think I have handled it very well.
“You have to face new situations and fight because I am never going to give up,” Modric said.

Despite no longer being a regular starter, Modric is committed to the team. “My behavior when I trained and played has been exemplary.
“I gave 100%, as always, and it was not a problem for the team or the coach. I have been an example in attitude in training.”
Meanwhile, reports from Spain indicate that Modric will sign a one-year extension with Real Madrid, although he did not confirm this in the interview.
“The decision on my future is made but I can’t tell you yet,” he said, “I have always said I want to retire at Real Madrid, this is what I really want”.
“This would be a dream, this is my home, the club of my life. I want a farewell like Toni Kroos.”
