Italy salvage late equalizer against Croatia to secure spot in Euro 2024 Round of 16



Mattia Zaccagni’s 98th-minute goal ensured a 1-1 draw for Italy against Croatia, helping the Azzurri into the Round of 16.

Italy will now face Switzerland in Berlin, a team that ended their 2022 World Cup hopes.

While Italy, needing just a point to advance, switched to a 3-5-2 formation.

Gianluigi Donnarumma played a huge role, saving Luka Modric’s penalty but conceding shortly after when Modric scored on the rebound.

Croatia had their chances, with Josko Gvardiol and Mario Pasalic in key roles.
