“Chidimma Adetshina, pride of the East” – Governor Mbah says

The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has congratulated Chidimma Adetshina for emerging the 1st runner-up in the just concluded Miss Universe contest, describing her as the pride of the South East.

Recall that Chidimma clinched the second position after losing to Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig.

The Enugu-born beauty queen was also named Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.

In his congratulatory message to Chidimma, Mbah lauded her commitment and resilience despite all odds.

He also appreciated Nigerians for the massive support given to Chidimma throughout the contest.

The Governor wrote, “Congratulations to Miss Universe Nigeria and Enugu State Brand Ambassador, Chidimma Adetshina, our pride from Amurri, Nkanu West Local Government, on emerging as the 1st Runner-Up at the Miss Universe 2024 Pageant in Mexico. Chidimma’s incredible journey and outstanding performance have filled us with immense pride, reaffirming the resilience, brilliance and determination that define Ndi Enugu.

“Against all odds, she has made Enugu and Nigeria shine brightly on the world stage, and we cannot be prouder of her. On behalf of the government and good people of Enugu State, I say congratulations Chidimma – keep soaring to even greater heights! Let me also take this opportunity to thank Nigerians and the rest of the world, who rallied behind her and voted, to enable her achieve this feat.”

Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has also hailed Chidimma Adetshina on winning the first runner-up position at the Miss Universe contest.

Dabiri-Erewa in a statement by her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun noted that Chidimma’s win was a “reward for her doggedness and resilience.”

Dabiri-Erewa also expressed excitement that despite all odds, Chidimma remained focused and attained her goals.

She said, “She is brilliant, focused and determined. I urge Nigerians to emulate the spirit of Nigerianess in Chidimma by being proud of the country and not run it down under whatever guise.”
