Amuwo-odofin Local Government Unveils 2025 Budget: A vision for Sustainable Progress and Renewed Hope
The Amuwo-Odofin Local Government today witnessed the presentation of the proposed 2025 budget by its Executive Chairman, Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh, to the legislative arm. Themed the “Budget of Sustainability of Renewed Hope,” this presentation marks the culmination of Dr. Buraimoh’s administration, which began in 2017, with a focus on sustainable development and community rejuvenation.

The budget presentation was attended by notable dignitaries including the seven councillors who formally received the budget, Apex leaders of the ruling party, community development executives, and various management staff and executives of the local government.
In his address, Executive Chairman Dr. Buraimoh emphasized the administration’s commitment to fostering sustainable development and rekindling public hope, quoting Nelson Mandela’s inspirational adage, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
This reflection underscores the administration’s journey characterized by overcoming significant challenges to achieve meaningful progress.Highlighting key achievements, Dr. Buraimoh recalled transformative projects like the Agidimo road construction initiated in 2019, responding to community demands for improved infrastructure. Major roads such as the 1st Avenue link road, 11 road, and Aroso market, among others, were reconstructed to improve connectivity across the community.
The budget addresses future infrastructure and healthcare advancements, including ongoing road projects such as Shallom Road and 23 Road. Additionally, an innovative administrative complex is under construction, designed to enhance governance and community services, featuring modern architecture for improved public service efficiency.
Attention was also drawn to enhanced community security, including the acquisition of patrol vehicles for local enforcement agencies, demonstrating a firm commitment to safety and welfare.
The proposed budget outlines an expenditure of ₦8,499,720,483.15, with a significant portion, ₦4,072,336,520.90, dedicated to capital expenses. Emphasizing transparency and fiscal responsibility, Dr. Buraimoh assured stakeholders that each naira spent would significantly contribute to sustained community progress.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Buraimoh extended heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported the administration’s vision. Emphasizing collaboration, he quoted an African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” reflecting the administration’s inclusive approach toward achieving shared goals.The presentation concluded with a call for continued collective efforts to foster prosperity and equity within Amuwo-Odofin. Dr. Buraimoh’s address was met with applause, signaling robust support from the attendees committed to the community’s development journey.
