IJGB laments hefty spending after a night out in Nigeria
An abroad-based Nigerian man, popularly referred to as IJGB (I Just Got Back), has sparked conversations online after sharing his shock at the cost of enjoying a night out in Nigeria.
Returning home for the Christmas festivities, the man, identified as @kennyninobrown on X, recounted his experience after visiting a high-end seafood restaurant.
In his post, @kennyninobrown shared two snapshots: the first showing his bank balance at over a million naira and the second revealing it had dwindled to just 250,000 naira after the night out.
Accompanying the photos, he humorously captioned, “Just one night out in Nigeria I no do again oo.”
The post quickly went viral, with many Nigerians weighing in on the rising cost of living and the luxury lifestyle in the country. Some sympathized with him, joking about how IJGBs often underestimate the financial demands of festive outings in Nigeria, while others pointed out that such restaurants are known for their premium prices.
