Mercy Chinwo and husband uplift community with generous donations
Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, brought smiles to residents of the Rumudara community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, through a heartwarming act of kindness.
On December 30, 2024, the couple, under the banner of the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, extended their generosity by providing essential items to uplift the lives of community members.
The foundation, an outreach arm of Mercy Chinwo’s Grace and Truth Nation (GNT) Music Label, distributed bags of rice, garri, cartons of tomato paste, and tubers of yams. The initiative also included cash gifts and clothing materials, ensuring the elderly, single mothers and disadvantaged residents had a memorable festive season.
“The central goal of Christ is love, and He is the reason for the season. According to John 3:16, giving is the DNA of love. It says, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life,’” Uzochikwa said.
He emphasized that the foundation’s work is not limited to providing food but also focuses on empowering recipients to achieve sustainable livelihoods.
“Love is about giving, and that is why the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation has made it a central idea to share the love of Jesus Christ with people who don’t know where their next meal would come from. The goal is not just giving them food items but empowering and establishing them to have sustainable means of income,” he added.
