Tony Okeke, a former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a colossal failure.
According to reports, Okeke made these remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, where he also criticized the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Okeke accused both Buhari and Tinubu of regressing the nation, stating that the 2023 elections should have been an easy victory for the PDP.

He attributed his party’s loss to internal shortcomings, emphasizing that Nigerians were disillusioned with the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he said offered no tangible solutions.
“In law, we say you cannot build something on nothing,” Okeke stated. “The Buhari administration took this country about 50 years backward, and now, the current administration seems poised to drag us 100 years further into the past.”
He added, “The 2023 election could have been a walkover for the PDP because Nigerians had endured eight years of disastrous governance under Buhari and were tired of the APC’s empty promises.”
In contrast, President Tinubu has reiterated his commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians.
After attending Jummat prayers on Friday in Lagos Island, Tinubu expressed gratitude to supporters who turned out to greet him. In a brief message on his official X account, the President reaffirmed his dedication to creating a brighter future for the country.
