Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde frowns over racist insults during Getafe clash
Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde has frowned at racist comments about him during Saturday’s La Liga match against Getafe.
The young defender was subjected to racist insults during the game which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Balde reported the abuse to the referee, who activated La Liga’s anti-racism protocol, including a stadium announcement to denounce the behavior.
Balde, a vocal advocate against racism in football, called for decisive action, suggesting matches should be stopped after the first racist insult.

“Football should be a celebration of diversity, not a platform for hate,” he stated.
“There is no room for racism in life or football. We must fight against these scenes.
“It’s a shame to see these things happening in 2025,” he added.
La Liga confirmed they would file a hate crime case with the public prosecutor, continuing their fight against racism.
