Man fires back at those labeling customer ‘not target audience’ over ₦6k turkey pepper soup complaint
A Nigerian man has called out critics who ridiculed a dissatisfied customer by labeling her as “not the target audience” after she complained about receiving a small portion of turkey pepper soup for ₦6,000 from Hilda Baci’s restaurant.
The incident gained traction on a popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), after the customer shared her grievances.
Man defends customer’s complaint about pepper soup from Hilda Baci.
Seeking redress, she reached out to the restaurant via WhatsApp.
In response, the admin apologized and explained that the establishment was “working on their portioning.”
Still displeased, the customer questioned why they would serve a small portion if they were aware of issues with their portion sizes.
In her words: “I just got back from work and ordered ₦6,000 pepper soup from Hilda’s restaurant. This is what I received. I’ve had a bad day at work, hadn’t eaten all day because I wasn’t feeling well, and planned to order something else tomorrow. But I decided to start with pepper soup today.”
“When I reached out to them on WhatsApp, all they said was that this is their standard portion and that they’re working on it. If you know you’re working on your portion sizes, why experiment with my food? I don’t understand.”
Her post sparked mixed reactions online. While some sympathized with her, others dismissed her complaints, claiming she wasn’t the “target audience.”
Reacting to this, a man took to social media to criticize those making such comments.
He wrote: “Someone is giving a review of something she bought with her own money and clowns on the internet are saying she shouldn’t cause she’s not the target market bla bla. When Hilda opened that restaurant, why didn’t she write her target market on the wall. Na classism go kill una.”
He defended the customer and highlighted the flaws in dismissing valid criticisms based on affordability or exclusivity.

@_DrFrank: “The same woman will pay huge amounts of money and wait in line for weeks, just to get a branded bag or perfume. These gender sef. They complain about the same challenges they caused. Then wait for men to fix it for them.”
@ice_arti: “IMO that Lady has the right to complain… Probably her pocket is still young as to why she shouldn’t have complained about it in the first place.”
@megabrainprime: “I already checked online for reviews on Hilda baci’s restaurant and the food is good but expensive . Na so I jeje maintain my lane .. I can’t live above my income . No do pass yourself . 6k na two paints of garri.”
@Queenestherose: “Let me explain because I’m a teacher. The first statement is in quotes. Meaning it’s a statement made by someone else not the writer. The next statement without the quotation marks is the writer’s statement in response to the quoted statement above.”
@lewiskid90: “Even if the customer is a billionaire. That would not sit right for 6k. It is not just the quantity, it doesn’t look like quality food. And even if it is 1k, you owe your brand a duty to deliver good service.”
@lifeinsolace: “They are part of the people ruining this country with their overpricing, yet people will support her because she’s their fave. Selective justice and morality will get us nowhere.”
@Natgkio: “The curse is not necessary but you have made a good point that she is not the target market.”
