The Ogun State Police Command has successfully rescued the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
According to reports, Mrs. Odumosu was kidnapped last Thursday in the Arepo area of Ogun State.
According to the state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. when masked kidnappers intercepted her Lexus Jeep near her residence. They forcibly dragged her out of the vehicle and took her to an undisclosed location.
Odutola stated that a team of officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, immediately began a search operation in the swampy bush areas around the scene. Local security forces, including the Baale of Warewa and Maaba, were also mobilized to assist in the effort.
One week later, on Thursday, the Force Headquarters Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced her rescue.
In a brief statement shared on his X account, Adejobi wrote:
“Police Neutralise AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife Kidnappers, Recovers Ransom.
“The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a job well done. We remain committed to protecting Nigerian citizens and ensuring their safety.”
