Milestone Achieved as Key Road Projects Commissioned in Oriade, Amuwo Odofin: A Testament to Infrastructure Development
In Oriade town of Amuwo Odofin, the commissioning of four newly completed road projects has marked a significant milestone. Among these is the reconstructed Old Ojo Road, now providing commuters with a faster alternative route along the bustling Lagos-Badagry corridor.
Included in the projects are the newly rehabilitated and upgraded Mumuni Adio (formerly Buba Marwa) Road, Irede Road, and Navy Town Road, all located in Amuwo Odofin. The Old Ojo Road spans 7.65 kilometers from Irede to Maza Maza and was divided into two phases.
The first phase, covering four kilometers from Irede Road to Oluti Bus Stop, is complete, with assurances that the second phase will be finalized in the upcoming quarter.Irede Road, which has been transformed from a single-carriageway to a dual carriageway, will greatly benefit commuters connecting to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway at Trade Fair Bus Stop.
This road serves as a vital gateway to Irede Jetty, providing access to numerous riverine communities such as Ibasa, Ibeshe, Ilashe, and Imoore.
The commissioning of these roads reflects a strong commitment to addressing the transportation challenges faced by the local population.
The aim is to provide sustainable transport infrastructure and effective traffic management solutions to alleviate congestion. A notable improvement is the shift from traditional asphalt to Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement, enhancing the durability and resilience of the roads.The newly constructed concrete rigid pavement is set to offer users a robust and lasting experience. It is poised to serve as a key artery for the Ijegun Egba area, providing essential access to tank farms, the Ijegun Egba Jetty, and various industrial establishments.
Expressing his gratitude, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh, thanked the Governor for the completion of these crucial projects within his jurisdiction.
His acknowledgment highlighted the positive impact these developments will have on residents’ daily lives and the area’s overall growth.Looking ahead, over the coming days, additional projects are scheduled for commissioning in Alimosho, Eti Osa, and other areas.
