A Nigerian man who staked $10k on Real Madrid to defeat Arsenal in the UCL quarter-final match has broken his silence.

The man shared his thoughts in a post on X (formerly Twitter), revealing the details of a side bet he had placed with another user.

The individual who initiated the bet had asked those willing to stake between $100k and $200k to signify their interest, claiming that Arsenal would win the match against Real Madrid.

He challenged those with an opposing view to stake against him.

In response, the Nigerian man staked $10k on Real Madrid to win or draw. However, after the match, he lost the bet to the person who initiated the challenge.

Following the loss, the man took to his social media page, thanking God for saving him from staking $200k, as he would have lost a much larger sum. He wrote: “Na God save my $200k.”

When asked how he felt about losing the $10k, he responded that he wasn’t upset because the money was won by his friend.

He added that he would have felt worse if it had been won by a stranger. “At all, na my person chop am. I for feel am if na stake I lose am to. I go make am back before I wake up. ”
