Valencia director praises Umar Sadiq for all-round impact
Valencia sporting director Miguel Ángel Corona has commended Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq for his recent performances, emphasizing that his impact goes beyond just scoring goals.
Speaking to Movistar+, Corona highlighted Sadiq’s contribution to the team’s overall play:
“We’re very happy with Sadiq. His numbers speak for themselves. He’s contributed a lot, not just in terms of goals, but also in the work he brings to the team, like all his teammates.”
Sadiq, on loan from Real Sociedad, has become an important figure in Valencia’s attack, impressing fans and coaching staff alike with his work ethic and influence on games. However, his long-term future at the club remains uncertain.
Corona was cautious about discussions over a permanent move, stressing the importance of focusing on the club’s immediate objective – La Liga survival.
“We cannot focus too much on things beyond our control right now. Our priority is to ensure we reach our goal, which is to secure enough points to reach safety,” he said.
Valencia currently sit four points off eighth place after a draw with Espanyol and remain in a tight mid-table battle.
While European qualification is unlikely, the club’s immediate concern is securing top-flight status before making decisions on player contracts and transfers.
Sadiq’s performances continue to fuel speculation about a possible permanent switch, but for now, both the player and the club are focused on finishing the season strong.
