CBEX: EFCC releases photos of those behind scam, declares them wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the photos of four individuals allegedly behind the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) scam, which led to huge financial losses for thousands of Nigerians.
In a post shared on its official X handle on Friday, the EFCC named the wanted individuals as Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, and Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun.
According to the commission, the suspects are wanted for their alleged involvement in a fraudulent online trading platform known as CBEX, through which investors lost millions of naira.
“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” EFCC wrote.
The EFCC urged anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the suspects to contact its offices in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, or Port Harcourt.
This move follows a ruling by the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on Thursday, granting the EFCC the authority to arrest and detain six promoters of CBEX over an alleged investment fraud exceeding one billion dollars.
