Emmanuel Dennis returns to Nottingham Forest after loan spell at Blackburn
Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis has returned to Nottingham Forest following the end of his short-term loan at Blackburn Rovers, with no plans for a permanent move.
The Championship club confirmed this in their released and retained list on Monday.
Dennis was among five loanees, including Owen Beck, Amario Cozier-Duberry, Dion Sanderson and Cauley Woodrow, set to return to their parent clubs.
The 27-year-old Nigerian joined Blackburn in January in search of regular minutes after being frozen out of Nottingham Forest’s plans under head coach Nuno Espírito Santo.
He had been excluded from Forest’s Premier League squad and did not feature in any cup fixtures during the first half of the season.
However, his time at Ewood Park was underwhelming, with injury setbacks limiting him to just 222 minutes across seven appearances, only one of which was a start.
Dennis enters the final year of his Forest contract, and with Nuno still at the helm, his future at the City Ground remains unclear, fueling transfer speculation ahead of the summer window.
Meanwhile, Blackburn opted to retain Leo Duru, the U.S. U-20 international of Nigerian descent, who impressed during a loan spell at League Two side Barrow, scoring his first senior goal in eight outings.
