Pogba to wear No.8 shirt as AS Monaco announce star’s arrival
Paul Pogba has officially signed for AS Monaco as a free agent, marking his return to football after serving an 18-month doping ban.
The 32-year-old French midfielder completed his medical and signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.
He will wear the No. 8 shirt and is expected to join Monaco’s preseason preparations immediately.
Pogba left Juventus by mutual consent in November 2024 following a difficult second stint with the Serie A side, which was marred by injuries and a failed drug test in August 2023.
Initially handed a four-year ban, the suspension was reduced on appeal to 18 months in October 2024.
This move marks Pogba’s first return to French football since leaving Le Havre for Manchester United in 2009.
He previously played for Juventus from 2012 to 2016 and again from 2022 to 2024, making a combined 190 appearances for the Italian club. He also featured 233 times for Manchester United.
