“You don’t deserve respect just because you’re older” – Wike fires back at Amaechi
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has fired back at former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over claims that Wike does not accord him respect.
He also challenged Wike to walk with him from Abuja to Port Harcourt as a test of their popularity.
Responding during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Wike dismissed Amaechi’s remarks, stating that respect should be based on character and integrity, not age or political status.
“You earn respect through integrity and honour, not because you are 200 years old,” Wike said. “It is unfair for him to say he is my senior and expect that alone to command respect.”
The exchange marks another chapter in the ongoing feud between the two Rivers politicians, who were once allies before their relationship soured.
