A 73-year-old Nigerian woman has finally become a United States citizen, marking the end of a long, faith-filled journey to citizenship.

In a heartwarming video shared by her daughter on TikTok, the elderly woman is seen joyfully celebrating her success after passing the citizenship interview.

The moment was filled with praise and gratitude, as the grandmother thanked Jesus Christ for seeing her through. Surrounded by her excited grandchildren, she proudly posed with her citizenship certificate, beaming with happiness and humility.

Her daughter, @mschicandy on TikTok, shared the emotional journey behind the achievement. She revealed that the family had been working for years to secure her mother’s citizenship and had prayed consistently throughout the waiting period.

“At 73 years old, my mom officially became an American citizen,” she wrote.

In a follow-up, she added, “There have been so many questions and negative comments, ‘Why now?’ ‘What’s the benefit at her age?’ ‘Isn’t she going back home?’ But all I have to say is: It doesn’t matter how long it took. What matters is, she got there.”

In a follow-up clip, the grandmother is shown walking slowly toward the interview venue, assisted gently as she prepared for one of the biggest moments of her life.

There have been so many questions and negative comments— “Why now?” “What’s the benefit at her age?” “Isn’t she going back home?” All I have to say is: It doesn’t matter how long it took. What matters is—she got there. #fyp#viral#mom#family#american
