Napoli president reportedly told Galatasaray to “get lost” in Osimhen transfer talks
A heated exchange reportedly took place between Napoli and Galatasaray during negotiations over the permanent transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
According to Turkish football analyst Uğur Karakullukçu, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis issued a blunt message during recent discussions.
He told intermediaries that he had no intention of selling Osimhen to the Turkish champions.
“While Galatasaray’s management was in Italy for the Osimhen talks, the Napoli president told the middleman on his boat, ‘Tell these guys I’m not selling to Galatasaray. They should get lost,’” Karakullukçu claimed in quotes relayed by Habersarikirmizi.
“He didn’t actually say ‘get lost,’ but something far more severe. I’m putting it politely. This is literally true.”
The alleged incident has escalated tensions in negotiations between the two clubs.
Osimhen, who scored 37 goals and provided 8 assists during his loan spell with Galatasaray last season, has already agreed personal terms on a reported €16 million-per-season deal.
Despite the player’s desire to remain in Istanbul, the dispute now centres on the payment structure of his €75 million release clause.
Galatasaray reportedly proposed a staggered deal, but Napoli have remained firm on demanding a substantial upfront payment and rejecting a proposed sell-on clause.
Karakullukçu also criticised Galatasaray’s executives for creating a false sense of optimism in the media.
“If you’re face to face with such a man, why are you telling journalists, ‘Only the final details remain,’ or ‘We’re just waiting on timing’?” he asked.
With the summer transfer window heating up, Galatasaray remain hopeful of securing a breakthrough ahead of their Champions League campaign.
