Icardi warned about ‘high-flying’ Osimhen
Former Turkish international and football commentator Serhat Akın has issued a strong warning to Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi, urging him to step up his performances amid comparisons with teammate Victor Osimhen.
Akın, speaking to Habersarikirmizi, said the Argentine forward risks losing the affection of Galatasaray fans if he fails to raise his game soon, insisting that Osimhen’s impact has already redefined the club’s attacking standards.

“There’s a game between Osimhen and Icardi. These two games are very different,” Akın said.
“Osimhen is a fantastic centre-forward. He takes things to a whole new level. If Icardi doesn’t get his act together quickly, if this situation drags on a bit, I think this love will end, like all loves.”

The former Fenerbahçe man noted that while Galatasaray fans adore Icardi, their patience could run thin if his form continues to dip.
“Galatasaray fans love him, and the kids in Türkiye loved him, but this love could end too. He needs to get his act together quickly because Osimhen has set the bar very high,” Akın added.
Meanwhile, both Osimhen and Icardi have been standout figures for Galatasaray this season, with the duo on the scoresheet in the club’s 3-1 win over Göztepe on Sunday.
