EPL: Liverpool maintain top spot with win over Palace but Alisson injury casts shadow
Liverpool secured a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, taking them to the top of the Premier League heading into the international break.
However, they suffered a major blow with an injury to goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Diogo Jota’s early goal proved decisive for the Reds. The Portuguese forward finished off a low cross from Cody Gakpo, giving Liverpool the lead.
Despite several opportunities, Liverpool failed to extend their advantage.

Palace struggled to capitalize on Liverpool’s misfortune, especially after Alisson’s injury with 15 minutes remaining.
Debutant goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros stepped in, and although Palace threatened, Eberechi Eze missed a golden opportunity to equalize, firing straight at Jaros.
Despite a late surge from Palace, Liverpool held on for a vital three points, continuing their strong but slightly shaky start under new manager Arne Slot.
