“Don’t try this next time” – Lady asks man out, gets painful response
A young Nigerian lady has shared her painful yet humorous experience of being rejected by a man she admired and asked out.
Joining a trending discussion on the platform about the hurt of being rejected by men, @Shez_Weird_ on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), posted screenshots of a direct message exchange from January last year.
In the chat, she boldly confessed her feelings to the man and inquired about his relationship status.
She wrote:
“Errrrrrrrrrmmmm Okay I don’t know how this is going to sound!!! But I have been crushing on you for a very long time. I like you. Are you single?”
The man’s response, however, was far from what she hoped for. He did not only rejected her but also body-shamed her.
“Lol please, first of all you are not my spec. I like very thick girls with big bundaaaa. Secondly, I’m very single. I appreciate your effort, but don’t try this next time,” he replied.
Reflecting on the interaction over a year later, she captioned the snapshot with humor: “I no fit forget .”
The post has since gone viral, sparking discussions about societal beauty standards, self-confidence, and the courage to express one’s feelings.
