This year’s theme, Community and Spirit, honored the 29 lives lost and thousands of homes destroyed in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in 2025. The event celebrated cinematic excellence and paid tribute to actors, filmmakers, and industry professionals who pushed storytelling to new heights.
The star-studded ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, kicking off at 10 PM (WAT) with celebrities gracing the red carpet. The main event, which ran from 1 AM to 4 AM (WAT) on March 3, 2025, opened with a powerful performance of Defy Gravity by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
