DR Congo declares new Ebola virus outbreak
The Democratic Republic of Congo has declared a new outbreak of the Ebola virus, with over two dozen suspected cases and 15 deaths recorded.
According to the country’s health minister, samples tested on September 3, 2025, confirmed the presence of the of the virus.
The symptoms include high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and hemorrhage.
Meanwhile the Democratic Republic Of Congo has a stockpile of 2,000 doses of the Ervebo Ebola vaccine, which will be deployed to Kasai to vaccinate contacts and frontline health workers.
This marks the country’s 16th Ebola outbreak since the disease was first identified in 1976.
