Environmental Task Force Team Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Structures and Street Traders in Amuwo-Odofin

In a continued bid to rid the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government area of environmental nuisances, the Environmental Task Force team led by Hon. Gbenga Nathaniel, Supervisor for Environment, and Honourable Abiodun Ajiboye, Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman on Environment, has carried out another successful sting operation to dislodge illegal structures and street traders across the council.

The task force team, armed with the necessary equipment and personnel, descended on various hotspots in the council, demolishing illegal structures and stalls, and arresting street traders who have refused to vacate the streets despite repeated warnings.

The operation, which was carried out in the early hours of the morning, caught many of the illegal traders and structure owners off guard, and was hailed as a major success by residents and stakeholders who have been clamoring for a cleaner and more organized environment.

According to Hon. Gbenga Nathaniel, “Our team will not relent in its efforts to restore the beauty and sanity of our environment. We will continue to intensify our enforcement efforts until all illegal structures and street traders are completely eradicated from our council.”

The task force team has also warned residents and traders to comply with the council’s environmental laws and regulations, or face the full wrath of the law.

The operation is a continuation of the council’s efforts to create a clean, safe, and habitable environment for all residents, and to promote a positive image of the Amuwo-Odofin community.”
