Real Madrid have reportedly inquired about Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot as they consider strengthening their full-back options.

While Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold remains their top target, injuries to Dani Carvajal have forced Los Blancos to explore other possibilities.

According to Relevo, Real Madrid approached Manchester United several weeks ago regarding Dalot.

The Premier League club responded by setting a €50m price tag for the versatile Portuguese full-back, who can operate on both flanks.

Although Real Madrid view Dalot as a valuable option for both immediate impact and long-term potential, their pursuit is complicated by financial considerations, according to Football Espana.

Alexander-Arnold, who is available on a free transfer next summer, remains a more attractive target given the cost advantage.

The report indicates that Real Madrid might not consider Dalot and Alexander-Arnold mutually exclusive, but the club is unlikely to pursue both.

Historically, Los Blancos have shown a preference for avoiding January signings unless absolutely necessary, making a move for Dalot during the winter window improbable.
