Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford is reportedly prioritizing a loan move to Barcelona.

The 27-year-old has issued the Catalan club a 24-hour deadline to finalize the deal.

Rashford has fallen out of favour under United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim and has not played since December 12 during a Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen.

The England international recently expressed his desire for a “new challenge,” drawing interest from European giants, including Tottenham, West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

However, Barcelona has emerged as Rashford’s preferred destination.

Manager Hansi Flick, who had previously attempted to sign Rashford during his tenure at Bayern Munich, is eager to add the versatile forward to support Robert Lewandowski in an intense schedule.

Despite Flick’s interest, Barcelona’s board remains divided on whether Rashford is the right fit, considering both sporting and financial implications.

The club is reportedly only open to a loan deal at this stage.

Rashford has set a Wednesday deadline for Barcelona to make a decision, putting pressure on the La Liga giants to act swiftly.

Manchester United manager Amorim declined to confirm Rashford’s future following their FA Cup penalty shootout win over Arsenal.

He stated: “I don’t know. We will see. He is a player for Manchester United, but I have to make choices. It is what it is, so let’s continue and see the next game.”
