Just in: Juventus sack Thiago Motta, appoint Igor Tudor as interim coach
Juventus have officially dismissed Thiago Motta after just eight months in charge, naming Igor Tudor as interim manager until the end of the season.
The club confirmed Motta’s departure in a statement on Monday, thanking him and his staff for their dedication.

Despite previous assurances from director Cristiano Giuntoli that Motta would remain in charge, the decision was made during the international break following a poor run of results.
Motta’s tenure saw Juventus crash out of the Champions League playoffs, exit the Coppa Italia in the quarter-finals against Empoli, and lose the Supercoppa Italiana to AC Milan.
His side also slipped to fifth in Serie A after heavy defeats to Atalanta (4-0) and Fiorentina (3-0), allowing Bologna to overtake them in the standings.
Tudor, a former Juventus defender (1998-2007) and assistant coach under Andrea Pirlo in 2020-21, now steps in to steady the ship.
The 46-year-old most recently managed Lazio, taking over from Maurizio Sarri in March 2024 before departing at the season’s end.
Juventus have the option to extend his stay beyond this campaign.
