Galatasaray warned against big-money move for Victor Osimhen
Galatasaray have been urged to exercise caution in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, with prominent Turkish football commentator Cem Dizdar warning the club not to break the bank for the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen, currently on loan from Napoli, has made a strong impression in Turkey, but discussions over a permanent move have sparked financial concerns.
Dizdar, speaking to HT Sports, questioned whether the striker justifies the reported fee and warned against committing significant resources in a financially fragile football environment.
“I don’t think Victor Osimhen is one of the top five centre-forwards in Europe,” Dizdar said. “It’s not right to spend so much money on Osimhen.
“This country’s football doesn’t produce that much money. It’s unfair in terms of competition.”
He added that even Premier League clubs are struggling with inflated transfer fees, implying that Turkish clubs are ill-positioned to chase such expensive deals sustainably.
While Osimhen’s performances have been impactful, the broader debate centers on Turkish football’s financial limits and whether splashing out on marquee signings undermines long-term competitiveness.
