Panic as Air Peace flight skids off runway in Port Harcourt
An Air Peace flight operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt experienced a minor runway skid upon landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
The incident involved Flight P47190, which veered slightly off the runway after touchdown.
The airline confirmed the development in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe. According to the statement, all passengers on board disembarked safely, and there were no injuries or damage to the aircraft.
“Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport. The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage. All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported,” the statement read.
The airline emphasized that its crew acted promptly and professionally, initiating standard safety procedures that ensured the calm and safe evacuation of all passengers.
Although the exact cause of the runway excursion has not yet been determined, aviation regulatory authorities are expected to conduct a thorough review in line with standard post-incident protocols.
