Darwin Nunez completes transfer from Liverpool to Al-Hilal
Liverpool have confirmed the departure of Darwin Nunez to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, ending the striker’s three-year spell at Anfield.
Nunez, 26, joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2023 for £64 million but failed to consistently deliver, scoring 25 Premier League goals in 95 appearances.
His role reduced even further under Arne Slot last season, with only eight league starts despite featuring 30 times.
The Uruguayan forward has now signed a permanent deal with Al-Hilal, subject to international clearance, and will join their pre-season preparations in Germany.
Liverpool thanked Nunez in a statement, wishing him and his family well.
Al-Hilal highlighted Nunez’s honours, including the 2024/25 Premier League title, the 2024 EFL Cup, and the 2022 FA Community Shield, as well as his prolific stint at Benfica and domestic success with Peñarol.
