Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has called on Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman to rediscover his best form, as the club continues to struggle in front of goal.

La Dea have managed just two goals in their last four matches despite facing modest opposition, and Juric’s men have appeared blunt in attack, a far cry from their free-scoring reputation.

Juric: “Lookman needs to get back to his best”

Lookman, who recently regained his starting spot after a tense summer over a failed transfer move, has endured a barren run in front of goal.

The 26-year-old is yet to score or assist in six Serie A appearances this season, with his last goal contribution dating back to May 12 against AS Roma.

Juric, however, expressed confidence in the winger’s ability to bounce back.
“Lookman was working hard to get into shape. Now, aware of his qualities, we’re pushing to get him playing immediately and at his best,” the Croatian tactician said.

“He’s proven to be incredibly strong. The team created at least 30-40 situations for him where he’s usually devastating, but now he needs to get back into form.

“The team provides him with the balls and the chances, and I’m confident he’ll soon unlock his potential.”

Lookman’s struggles extend to international duty

The Nigerian attacker’s dip in form has also reflected in his recent Super Eagles outings, where he has failed to impress.

He was suspended for Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Benin, a match many considered a relief for him to reset mentally.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs fast approaching, national team coach Eric Chelle will be hoping Lookman rediscovers his usual form.

Failure to do so could see his starting place come under threat, especially after Samuel Chukwueze’s standout display in Nigeria’s last game.
