Chelsea fans took to social media to voice their frustrations and speculations after club owner Todd Boehly was seen storming out of Stamford Bridge during their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Many supporters joked that Boehly was off to secure new signings, including Victor Osimhen, after the side struggled to capitalize on the few chances they created in the game.

One fan posted on X, “On his way to secure Felix and buy Osimhen,” while another humorously suggested, “Todd Boehly on his way to sign Felix, Osimhen, Chiesa, Maradona, and Pele.”

Another fan went on to add, “We need Osimhen, they need Lukaku. It’s that simple. Just get it done.”

The match saw City begin their Premier League title defense in strong fashion, with Erling Haaland marking his 100th appearance for the club by scoring his 91st goal.

The Norwegian striker put City ahead in the 18th minute after receiving a pass from Bernardo Silva and overpowering Chelsea defenders.

City sealed their win late in the match when former Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic capitalized on a disorganized Chelsea midfield to score the second goal in the 84th minute.

Recall Chelsea have been in the market for Osimhen, but are unwilling to activate the player’s huge release clause pegged at around €130m.

The Nigerian international is also unwilling to reduce his current wage structure, irrespective of the club coming for his signature.

On the other hand, Chelsea are still in talks with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix, who has given his approval for a return to Stamford bridge.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a lot of work still needs to be carried out before the deal can be considered done.

A separate deal between the two clubs also exist for the move of Conor Gallagher to Spain.

Romano hints that Gallagher’s move may happen before Wednesday, for his introduction to Atletico Madrid fans.
