The Super Eagles of Nigeria have safely returned to the country after a chaotic experience in Libya.

The players and officials touched down at the Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday night, following their ordeal at Al Abraq Airport in Libya.

The Nigerian contingent had been stranded for several hours after arriving in Libya on Sunday, ahead of their scheduled Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifying match against the Mediterranean Knights.

Due to the harsh treatment they faced, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the decision to withdraw from the match, which was set to take place in Benina on Tuesday.

The incident has drawn attention from football bodies, with investigations now underway.
