Saif Ali Khan undergoes surgery following robbery attack
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, underwent surgery following multiple stab wounds sustained during an attempted burglary at his Mumbai residence, his public relations team confirmed.
The actor, known for his roles in Dil Chahta Hai and Netflix’s Sacred Games, was attacked during the incident on Thursday. His team has urged fans to remain calm and patient as Khan recovers.
Khan’s wife, Kareena Kapoor, a leading Bollywood actress, told local media, “Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital. The rest of the family is doing fine.”
Niraj Uttamani, a senior official at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, revealed that Khan sustained six injuries, including two deep wounds. He is currently under medical care.
The attack has shocked fans of the actor, who is the son of former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore.
Images broadcast by the Press Trust of India showed police conducting forensic examinations at Khan’s residence. Authorities are investigating the incident, though details about the intruder or motive remain unclear.
Khan, who has appeared in over 70 films and television series, has a massive following across India and globally. Fans and fellow celebrities have taken to social media to send their prayers and wishes for his recovery.
