Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has revealed the emotional challenges he and his wife, Mo Bimpe, have faced due to social media trolling.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor shared how online bullies often target his wife, calling her barren.

Lateef, who has been married to Mo Bimpe for nearly four years, expressed admiration for his wife’s strength in dealing with the negativity.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and say she would be all right,” he said, adding that these hurtful comments have tested their resilience as a couple.

The actor also reflected on his early struggles in Nollywood, particularly within the Yoruba film industry. He recounted a painful moment when a mentor doubted his abilities and predicted his career would fail within a year. Despite the discouragement, Lateef persevered, earning just ₦4,000 for a lead role early in his career.

Today, Lateef Adedimeji is one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actors, with numerous accolades to his name. He recently earned a Best Actor nomination at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for his exceptional performance in Jagun Jagun, an epic movie by Femi Adebayo.

Speaking about his journey, Lateef highlighted the critical role his wife played in his success.

“When I wanted to do my first big-screen project, Lisabi, I realized everyone I thought would stand by me was absent. But my wife was there, and she helped me stay confident,” he said.
